The Road Safety Innovation Fund Round Two is now open for applications.
Overview
- The Road Safety Innovation Fund is designed to contribute to the reduction of road trauma.
- The $12 million initiative was announced by the Australian Government on 29 March 2019 as a Budget measure to support road safety research and the development of new, innovative road safety technologies and products.
- Round 2 Grant Opportunity will be delivered by way of an open competitive round with a total value of $10 million over three financial years.
- RSIF Round 2 projects will conduct research on key road safety issues to support further action to reduce deaths and serious injuries, to support the implementation of the national road safety strategy and the long-term goal of Vision Zero.
Eligible Grant Activities
Innovation can take the form of road safety management initiatives, new technologies or products. Eligible areas can include:
- Infrastructure planning and investment
- Regional road safety
- Remote road safety
- Vehicle safety
- Indigenous Australians
- Heavy vehicle safety
- Vulnerable road users
- Risky road use
- Vehicles as a workplace
Maximum grant amount for FY20/21 (AUD): $150,000
