A sudden surge in bookings from South East Asia and the Indian Sub-Continent to Australia and New Zealand has triggered a wave of rate increases and additional fees.
With MSC discontinuing its SEA-Oceania services, carriers like ZIM and ANL are adjusting their prices significantly. ZIM will implement a USD 500/TEU increase from 16 August, while ANL will raise rates and peak season surcharges from mid-August and September.
Maersk Line, Neptune Pacific Direct Line, and OOCL are also revising their fees and terminal handling charges, reflecting continuous increases in operating costs.
These ongoing adjustments highlight the volatile nature of our industry. Staying informed and prepared is essential to manage these changes effectively. Strategic planning and proactive contract management are crucial to navigating these continuous price increases.
