Written by AmberD

October 7, 2020

To counter the impact of COVID-19 on the employment of young people, the JobMaker Hiring Credit has been introduced to incentivise employers to hire young job seekers aged between 16 and 35.  Employer will be able to claim $200 a week for each additional employee hired aged 16 to 29 years old; and $100 a week for each additional eligible employee aged 30 to 35 years old.

This credit will be applicable for new jobs created until 6 October 2021. Eligible employees must have received the JobSeeker Payment, Youth Allowance (Other), or Parenting Payment for at least one of the previous three months at the time of hiring. More detail can be found here.
