The Government has announced that it will be introducing changes to the EMDG program, to simplify the scheme beginning 1 July 2021.

EMDG will be changing from the current reimbursement model, to an eligibility-based grants program. Grants will eligible SMEs that are in 3 distinct stages of their export journey. Eligible applicants include export-ready SMEs with an annual turnover of less than $20 million. Funding will be available to the following:

  2. For eligible exporters who plan to expand their presence in current markets or enter new markets, grants of up to $240,000 over three years will be available.
  3. Exporters who continue to expand into new markets will be able to access further grants of up to $450,000 over three years.
